CAT 60 is a 60% bitumen emulsion for use as a tack coating emulsion for bonding freshly laid asphalt to theunderlying pavement and for chip sealing with a small gradesealing chip in low traffic environment, e.g. driveway.

CAT 60 bitumen emulsion can replace hot bitumen tack coats in all applications.


  • SPECIFICATIONS

    CAT-60 Emulsion can be used as a tack coat beneath any cold or hot asphalt surface including: • State Highways • Local Authority roads, City streets • Subdivisions • Driveways It should not be used for tack coating where a more robust chip seal membrane is required.

  • COVERAGE

    Tack coat - General rule of thumb is 1.0ltrs/m2 to 1.2ltrs/m2 20ltrs covers approx. 20m2 Chip Seal – General rule of thumb is 1.7ltrs/m2 to 2.0ltrs/m2 – followed by a small grade of sealing chip evenly spread, e.g. grade 5 20ltrs covers approximately 10 square metres.

  • APPLICATION

    CAT 60 is delivered in a ready to use form and can be either sprayed cold or heated to 40°C if required.
